MOVIE: “Safe Haven” a romantic drama mystery movie is the October movie offered by the Living At Home Block Nurse Program for the movie matinee. A young woman flees an abusive drunken husband whom she has stabbed in self defense. She settles in Southport, NC, finds a job, a new love and new life. Her husband manages to find her and disrupts the new life she has built. Join us at Bethlehem Lutheran Church at 1:30, Oct. 14 for treats, coffee and fellowship. Everyone is welcome. Volunteers needed: Volunteers are needed to help the LAHBNP function. Current needs are: drivers for taking clients to appointments, drivers to deliver meals, help at bingo, take photos at LAHBNP events, and someone to help make scrapbooks of our events, programs, etc. If you are interested in helping , please call 974-8737 for more information or to sign up. Soup and Sandwich Supper: On October 17 starting at 4:00 the LAHBNP will hold its annual Soup and Sandwich Supper. Serving is from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Atwater Community Center. Five variety of soups plus sandwiches and bars will be served. The great cooks of the LAHBNP volunteers will have home baked goods available to purchase. The flu shot clinic will be from 4:00 to 5:00 pm. Bring your insurance card, Medicare card or cash (if uninsured or insurance would not cover) for the immunization. 6 months to 18 years old will cost $15, over 18 is $30 unless you chose the flu mist which is $35. The Lions organization will also be holding their annual sweater sale which helps support the LAHBNP. Sweaters cost between $5 and $25 each.
